no trainig

I haven't trained for more than a week.
I am living in a different city and I have no where to stay for the moment, so there is the no training policy, hehe.
i am injured as well, although my foot doesn't hurt as much and my shin is probably goof, now my upper quads are feeling weird.
It is a good rest so I'll pick it up with more strength.
Last Saturday i watched the ironman in kona, what a dream to finish it. will I ever qualify?hopefully, hehe
Hopefully the next time that I write here I have some really good news to share.
Something big is going to happen soon but I can't reveal it yet.
soon though

last week before I train somewhere else

the lasts two weeks I have been training at home and in platja d'aro.
I have done another brick session and the almost 7km that I run after the bike I was faster than what I expected (4mins9sec/km).
I have been running a lot, the winter is coming and I won't be running as much although I will be swimming and hopefully I can buy the bike that I want, although I won't be able to use it until next year.
the sunday before the last one I run from tennis d'aro to sta cristina and back (9,8km) and I raced it in 36mins 42sec (3mins 43sec/km) that was fast for me and I was extremely happy for that, hehe.
I already have a new goal, although it is too hard and it is against my training so I am not sure I can try it, we'll see it, hehe

www.mapmytri.com

Last week was a nightmare for me, I did not workout the 1st 2 days and then I started to workout again. I had stopped for 3 or 4 days, my diet wasn't good and even though I was faster than when I used to live in BCN I felt very slow. After 4 month without going to Montjuïc the hill became hard. Although now I'm back into track.
Last Friday I tried my 1st brick training ever and that was the real nightmare. I did 26km bike in 1h15mins, 3mins transition and 24km run in 2h with water shortage that's why I could not finish the last 2km, I had lost more than 3,5kg from my initial weight and I had drunk roughly 1,3l, so I had lost almost 5l of fluids, that was dangerous. I ate, I slept a few hours and I was ok again, so I decided to have my regular run Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday's run was much slower than the regular pace but Sunday's was pretty good.
I have received some bad news and maybe my priorities will need to change, although we will see once I move to Germany again, my exams were not as successful as I expected.
by the way, www.mapmytri.com is a great tool to stay on top of the workout.

awful training week

this week I have been awful at training, my mind is somewhere else, somewhere not pleasant, hehe.
I haven't had a good work out and when I have had it it has been meaningless.
I hope I can start training well in about two days, where I'll have finished some of this stress.
I'll try to go to a bike shop on Thursday to get some info, yuhuuuu!!!!!!!

kinda tapering

If these weeks were in the middle of the season what I am doing now would be called tapering, but I am not, I am just slowing down because I have other duties to take care of.
Although I had said so the last week, I have run, and ridden my sister boyfriend's bike.
but seriously now I won't have as much time to train.
So hopefully I can focus to recover my injuries the next two weeks so I am ready to train again after this period

new record 52m12s!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today was the day. I had rest on Sunday, I jogged 30mins yesterday and I was ready to tackle the race.
I knew it was gonna be hard. My record was 54m 16s. Was I gonna be able to beat it? The average speed was 3m 52s/km. Very fast. I thought I was ready to make it under 54mins but it was gonna be hard.
I dressed up listening to I gotta feeling(the black eye peas) and viva la vida (coldplay). Before I left I wanted to know what the time would need to be to finish the run at a pace of 3m45s/km (16km/h) ufff the answer was scaring 52mins 30 secs, too fast I can't make it, 1min 45secs faster than my record, oh my god, it would be making the 1st checkpoint at 10m30s, 2nd checkpoint 31m30s and ending in 52mins 30secs, hard but I could give it a shot.
I start to run, I am feeling good and fast, I head the river I have nose wind, damn, although I acknowledge it, it doesn't bother me too much. I arrive at the 1st checkpoint 10m37s (at that point I thought I was only 1s faster, although I was 11s faster, but 7s behind the wonder time), but it is OK I had nose wind and it is the 1st checkpoint, which I am always slow, let's keep it up. I keep on checking the time and I still feel fast and the stopwatch says so too. I keep running, faster, and it looks like I am doing it. I get to the 2nd checkpoint and oh my god I am only 2 seconds behind schedule (31m32s, with tail wind), i had never broken the 32m milestone. I start to feel tired but I can keep going. I have nose wind again that is a draw back but it doesn't matter, hehe. I keep it up and I head back. Before I leave the river I check the time once again and I feel like I am going 13s slower but I was almost 2 minutes faster than my fastest time, so it was OK to beat my record anyway.
Last meters, I try to run faster but I can't and I know I need to keep a little energy for the end, at this moment I already know I'll do my record but I don't know if I'll stop the stopwatch before 52m30s. I sprint as fast as I can, I started to early I am running out of energy, I slow down the last 50m but oh my god! I reach the pizza place in 52m12s!!!!! I dropped my record by more than 2minutes!!!!! yuhhhhhhhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did it, I have run 14km in less than 52m30s it means I averaged 16km/h!!!!!! 3m45s awesome!!!
I am very happy.
Pd: I still feel my heel and my shin

time to close some chapters

This past week I haven't felt too good. I guess because of the major changes that I'm heading to and because my pain has led to an injury, fisrt in my left heel and because of that my right shin is suffering because of the over duty to compensate.
Although I am injured and a bit sick tomorrow is my last chance to beat my record, and I'll give it a shot.
I'll miss running next to the Main river, the people there, the ones who stare, the ones who don't care at all and the ones who think I wanna become a boxer (for some unknown reason I have had people singing the Rocky's song, looking at me and mimicking a boxer or even calling me Rocky or Stallone).
I'll miss my route although it was time for a change, I have explored one other route but wasn't as good to me.
What I will also miss for the next two to 3 weeks is my training, it is time to wrap some chapters up or in this case I might have to open them to read, hehe.
Anyway during the next few week I have to recover from my injuries, try to get a degree, find around 3 places to live, isn't that fun?

I hate feelings

This week I have been training as always, well not as always, I had a coupla days off, although they were not the problem.
The problem has been the feelings. How is that possible that the day that I had made my 3rd best time yet I was feeling slow? there is a problem between my mind and reality. The but that has also happened teh they after, well that they I went a lil slower but it was still considered fast for my standards. Why does that happen? It is very annoying.
There is another problem and that is that I feel fatter lately, I'm not sure whether I have put on some weight or not but I feel like it.
And also feelings are not good when you compete, sometimes they can play tricks on you and overstimate on your performance and in a long distance race that is not good. You have to be cold and methodic, and don't let the feelings to interfere your plans.
I have also learned this week that on a time trial race like the ironman very step is important, a good start is as important as the end, and the lost time at one section is impossible to get it back later on when the fatigue kicks in, so it is very important to stay focused all the time.

pain

This week has been a very long week, fortunately for me today is Monday and it is my day off, although this week I might need a few more, hehe.
I have trained hard and I have and I have increased the amount of hours working out, I'm still running it is ok.
I have also explored new routes with hills, it is hard to find a hill here in Frankfurt and it is hard to run else where than the river, it is nice and flat, hehe.
This week I have had foot pain, calf pain and today knee pain. I'm not worried to much about the foot because I've had it for more than a month, the calf will be ok, but the knees, it is the 1st time that they hurt, although yesterday I went for a long run and it was the 2nd day in a row with hills, a lot of impact when landing and I think I went fast enough.
It's approaching the time that I need to buy a bike, but I can't afford a good one yet, hopefully soon I'll find one, hehe.
Anyone knows a goot bike shop where I can get my bike? or to ask the size that I need and everything?
The bike and its supplements:
-preferebly a road bike with aerobars, but for the time being I can train with any bike, I need volume now
-helmet
-sunglasses
-gloves
-shoes
-jersey
-shorts
-bike computer

extra post

I wanted to post once a week only, but today something incredible happened, hehe.
Yesterday, I went for my daily run and I was getting a good time until I stopped to meet a friend to run with him and i ended up running 90mins, I hadn't trained for 4 days because I was gone and I couldn't.
So today I was ready to run but I felt my legs heavy and tired, so I said to myself that today I would probably take it easy and run around the 57:30.
I started to run and my foot hurt a little bit but since it has been like this for the last month and whet it warms up it doesn't hurt anymore, I didn't bother about it. Then I started to feel good and fast, which I couldn't believe because i had stopped for 4 days and I had a long run yesterday, and I said to myself that it was only a feeling, so I made it to the first checkpoint and here it comes the first surprise 10:48, that is fast (anything under 11mins is fast). I was feeling good and with a good pace so i decided to keep up with it, at the second checkpoint I wasn't feeling as good as before but guess what 33:08!!!! that meant that I flew but I had done it once under 33mins so I thought I would make the run in the early 55. On my way back I started to feel a little tired, no wonder I was flying at the river, but I didn't wanna give up, I wanted to see where I was going so I kept running, until I had to face the little uphill to leave the river and hit home, I felt like I couldn't run anymore, but I did. At that moment I was still thinking I would make it in the mid 55 but I didn't want to give up, I didn't push it, I kept the pace, but it once time to face the last meters and I always sprint there, i felt tired but I had enough energy to run I pushed it like always, although I felt slower than ever before there and I started to realize that I could do it and....
Yes I have a new record of 54:16, 14 seconds faster than my old record.
Fortunately for me I was feeling slow, heavy legged and a centimeter wider due to Lingen, hehe
I felt like I had to share it, hehe
Don't panic anyone i won't break today's record tomorrow, hehe

I know where my ironman debut should be

I have decided that my debut will be in Panama city Beach, Florida in November 2010.
So from now on all I have to do is to focus on that date, when I'm thinking of my sports goals.
I have just made a promise to myself and that is that I'll do my best to compete there. Now is time to focus on my finances, my schedule and my training, hopefully everything will be ok.
It's been a tough decision specially because competing in florida is more expensive and the event will take place in more than one year, that is a lot of time to train, think and to get nervous.
But the decision has been made and everything will work out well.
Anybody wants to join me?either training or competing or cheering?

time to choose

I have decided to do an ironman, but I need to choose where I'll do my ironman debut.
There are a lot of variables to take into account that will make me choose for one or another.
For example: my budget, my free time to train, the characteristics of the course and so on.
And even though I'm working out quite a lot, I can't start training specifically for such a race. My real plan will start 30weeks prior to the event.
Here are some ironman cities, although it doesn't mean I'll choose one of them for my debut:
-Lake Placid, New York
-Bolton, UK
-Pentiction, B.C.Canada
-Louisville, Kentucky
-Madison, Wisconsin
-Kona, Hawaii (World Championship, you can only race here by invitation or through lotto)
-Panama City Beach, Florida
-Tempe, Arizona
-Frankfurt, Germany
-Taupo, New Zealand
-Langkawi, Malaysia
-Port Mcquire, Australia
-Port Elisabeth, South Africa
-Lanzarote, Spain
-and so on

I think I know where my debut will be but I'll give myself a week to decide it. Can you help me out telling me what city you think it would be a good city for my debut?
Would you come to see me if i were racing there?
